RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – “Covid vaccine near me”. Starting this Friday, April 30, those entering this search term on Google will find vaccination posts in the 30 largest Brazilian cities. The information will appear in the search engine and on Google Maps and will soon be available in the Waze app. The search for this topic has increased 5 times worldwide since the start of 2021.

The company introduced the new feature exclusively to TechTudo. To achieve this result, it relies on data passed on by state health secretariats. In all, the system has already mapped 1,800 vaccination points around the country.

The resource works with searches for “covid vaccine near me”, “covid vaccine,” or “where to vaccinate against covid in [city]”. In addition to this information, details will also be included, such as whether specific groups have access, if drive-thru mode is available, or whether scheduling is required.

The tech giant recommends that users also check the health authorities’ websites for instructions. Each vaccination center shown on Google Maps, for example, has a “Site” button that leads to an official page of the health authority with further details. The Rio de Janeiro city website provides guidelines such as days and hours of operation or the age group and target audience for vaccination in that region.
