Over 13 million Pfizer vaccine doses to be delivered to Brazil

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Pfizer announced that 13,265,460 million doses of its Covid-19 vaccine produced in partnership with BioNTech will be delivered to th  e Ministry of Health in the last two weeks of July.

Viracopos International Airport in Campinas will receive 13 flights from Miami, USA, between July 20 and August 1. From there the vaccines will be shipped to the Ministry of Health’s distribution center in Guarulhos. Together with the previous batches, over 30 million doses will be delivered to the federal government in the first half of this year.

The pharmaceutical company expects the operation at Viracopos airport to be stepped up between the months of August and September when almost 70 million doses will land in the country.

This amount is part of the first agreement signed with the government on March 19, contemplating the delivery of 100 million vaccines until the end of the third quarter 2021. The second agreement, signed on May 14, foresees the delivery of another 100 million doses between October and December, totaling 200 million Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine doses to Brazil.
