Pfizer delivers another 629,000 Covid-19 vaccine doses to Brazil
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Another 629,000 Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine doses landed yesterday, May 19, at Viracopos Airport, in Campinas (SP).
This is the fourth batch of a total of 200 million vaccines contracted by the Brazilian government from the pharmaceutical company. Together, the four shipments total 2.8 million doses of the immunizer delivered to the Ministry of Health.

The doses were taken to the Ministry of Health’s Distribution Center in Guarulhos (SP), where vaccines are stored at a temperature of between -90°C and -60°C.
When sent to vaccination sites, the immunizers are exposed to a temperature of -20°C.
In vaccination rooms, where refrigeration ranges from 2ºC to 8°C, doses must be administered within five days.
New deliveries
According to the Covid-19 vaccination panel, 20.5 million doses of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine produced by Fiocruz, 3.9 million doses of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine obtained through the Covax Facility consortium, 5 million doses of the CoronaVac vaccine, and 842,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine obtained through the Covax Facility are expected to be delivered in May, totaling 32.9 million doses.
