Covid-19: 72% of Brazil’s indigenous population fully vaccinated – government

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The Minister of Health, Marcelo Queiroga, reported Tuesday, June 22, that 72% of the country's indigenous population has already been vaccinated against Covid-19 with both doses.

The statement came during a meeting with Supreme Court Justice Luis Roberto Barroso, rapporteur of the lawsuit calling for stronger protection for indigenous peoples during the pandemic.

The hearings were led by Barroso, who also spoke with indigenous community leaders, the Minister of Defense, General Braga Netto, and the federal Solicitor General, André Mendonça.
