Eight-year-old Paraíba Student Earns Highest Mark and Gold Medal in Robotics
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Yan Gabriel Santos Rodrigues da Costa has received the certificate for the highest national mark and honor certificates for merit at national, state and municipal levels.
Yan is a third-year elementary school student in a private school in Campina Grande, Paraiba, and this is the third consecutive time that he achieves the first national position in a scientific Olympiad.
He has also been a medalist in the astronomy and aeronautics Olympiad.
As a result of this achievement, Yan has been invited to take part in the International Robotics Olympiad.
Ease to learn
The wunderkind’s father, Leonardo Costa, said that from an early age the boy had shown he liked robotics, technology, astronomy, and physics.
According to his teachers, Yan has an easy time learning and interacting, as well as a good understanding ability.
For three years now, the boy has been participating and achieving good results in Brazilian astronomy and astronautics Olympiads.
This year, Yan competed in the national robotics Olympiad for the first time with students from all over the country.
The student has additionally qualified for the regional stage of the Brazilian Robotics Olympiad, as a practical discipline, which will be held this month in Rio Grande do Sul.
