Evangelicals Demand R$1 Billion Compensation from ‘Porta dos Fundos’

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The comedy troupe Porta dos Fundos and Netflix were sued by the Pentecostal Church Brasa Viva. The religious group brought a lawsuit in which they demand the payment of R$1 billion (US$ 250 million) compensation for moral damages for the 2018 Christmas special, which satirizes with the biblical passage of the "Last Supper".

In the satire, after getting intoxicated during the supper, Jesus' disciples wake up with a hangover and realize that they have lost the Messiah. Inspired by the American film "The Hangover", the film was banned in Singapore at the time.
