Federal Police Arrest Women Selling Images of Rape and Torture of Their Own Children

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Two women were arrested on Thursday, September 19th, in the second stage of Operation “Pedomom” of the Federal Police (PF). They were part of a criminal scheme, involving a couple in Ukraine, which produced and distributed files containing images of child sexual abuse.

The victims were the women’s own children. A man, also involved in the crime, had already been arrested in Iguape (SP).

According to the Federal Police, in May of this year, a Ukrainian couple had been arrested. The pair produced and distributed files containing images of child sexual abuse in that country.

In the same month, a Brazilian was arrested in the city of Iguape, also involved in the scheme. During the execution of the search and seizure warrant, he attempted to destroy his laptop and cell phones but was unsuccessful.

The material was taken to the PF’s Scientific-Technical sector for analysis, where a large number of files containing scenes of sexual abuse practiced by the man in the company of two women, with the two children as victims, were found.

The PF found that the two women were the prisoner’s former girlfriends and the victims are the man’s daughter, who has no connection with the women, and the son of one of the women, who are 11 and 5 years old, respectively.

According to the Federal Police, more than 30 rapes were recorded, in addition to images of torture committed against one of the children. Regarding one of the aggressors, about 20 acts of sexual abuse committed against her own son were identified.

The rapes were filmed by the perpetrators who later exchanged them on Deep Web forums specifically dedicated to sexual abuse by fathers and mothers.

The women involved were arrested on Thursday, after the Ukrainian police and the Federal Police’s efforts, as well as representatives of Interpol in Brazil. One of them was located in Iguape and the other in Cajati, both cities located in the Vale do Ribeira region, in the interior of São Paulo.

The crime of publication of images of child pornography involves a three to a six-year prison sentence. Rape of the vulnerable, on the other hand, provides for eight to 15 years imprisonment.
