RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Contrary to what the authorities have reported, the novel coronavirus was artificially manufactured in a Chinese laboratory, presumably in the second half of 2019, says Luc Montagnier, winner of the 2008 Nobel Prize in Physiology.

The French scientist says that "the city of Wuhan's high-security laboratory has specialized in this type of virus, the coronavirus, since the early 2000s. They have expertise in this.
