Over 1.5 Million People in the World Have Been Infected with Coronavirus

The detection of a novel virus in China was reported to the WHO (World Health Organization) in late December 2019. Since then, 89,000 have died as a result of Covid-19.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The confirmed Covid-19 cases have reached 1.5 million worldwide, according to the pandemic monitoring service conducted by Johns Hopkins University in the United States.

Over 430,000 cases have been reported in the United States, which has the highest number of infections. Spain (152,000), Italy (139,000), Germany (113,000) and France (83,000) are also among the countries with the highest number of confirmed cases.

In Italy, at least 17,000 people have died from the disease. In Spain, the country with the second highest number of deaths, there were over 15 . . .
