Son of Supermarket Chain Owner Dies in Highway Crash in Santa Catarina

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – A severe accident on the BR-101 highway, north of KM 184, in Biguaçu, Santa Catarina State, on Sunday morning, June 28th, killed the 50-year-old entrepreneur Roberto Angeloni from Rio de Janeiro.

He was driving a Mercedes Benz with Criciúma (SC) plates and was involved in a crash with a Ford Ranger vehicle. The entrepreneur’s car, apparently speeding, went off-track and crashed into a barrier, breaking in half. Angeloni’s death was confirmed by the Federal Highway Police (PRF).

According to Arteris Litoral Sul, the company managing the stretch of highway, the accident occurred at around 11:30 AM, opposite the Tijuquinha Station. The entrepreneur died at the scene and a passenger from the Ranger was rushed to the hospital in São José.

The entrepreneur is the son of Antenor Angeloni, owner of the Angeloni supermarket chain and former president of the Criciúma Sports Club.
