Tokyo 2020: Thiago Braz wins bronze for Brazil in pole vault

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Rio 2016 Olympic champion Thiago Braz this Tuesday (3) won the bronze medal in the pole vault event at the Tokyo Olympics. The 27-year-old athlete's best jump was 5.87 meters.

Initially, Thiago surpassed the 5.55m mark. Then the bar rose to 5.70m and 5.80m, until reaching 5.87m and surpassing 5.82m, the season's best vault for him.

Braz was eliminated in the fight for gold when the bar reached 5.92m, failing to surpass it on his three attempts.
