Snow arrives with force in Brazil’s Rio Grande do Sul, enchanting residents and tourists

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Those who saw it, and there were many, were delighted. There was a lot of snow, the likes of which have rarely been seen recently.

Many of the children running through the white streets and squares Wednesday night, or building snow globes or snowmen with their parents and siblings, weren’t even born the last time it snowed this much and this hard.

Wintry precipitation began early Wednesday morning (28) in the southern Rio Grande do Sul state and Campanha. The sunny day quickly changed its face with clouds that brought snow, frozen rain, and sleet.
