Christmas Sales Growth in Brazil is the Highest Since 2014

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazilians spent more on Christmas this year, reflecting optimism for the country’s economy in the near future, according to data released on Wednesday by Brazil’s National Confederation of Shopkeepers (CNDL) and the Credit Protection Service (SPC Brazil).

The growth of 2.66 percent in relation to 2017, is the highest since 2014. "After a period of economic downturn, there is a positive outlook for the post-election scenario, which has encouraged many consumers to go shopping this Christmas," says SPC Brasil’s chief economist, Marcela Kawauti.
