Uniformed Children Carry Replica Guns at Commemorative July 9th Parade in São Paulo

SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL – Children in uniform carrying replica guns took part in the parade to commemorate the 87th anniversary of the beginning of the Constitutionalist Revolution of 1932, held on Tuesday, July 9th, in the Ibirapuera Park area of the São Paulo south zone.

The police public relations team, when asked about this, reassured that the guns were not real and that parents would be advised not to allow their children to carry toy guns in future parades.

The police further say they “value children who are proud to wear the uniform of their true heroes” and that “it encourages children to parade in the Ninth of July tribute as a means to stimulate their patriotism and civic spirit.”
