Well-known Brazilian Priest is Pushed and Falls During Mass, Not Hurt Seriously

The woman breached security, invaded the altar during the celebration and pushed nationally known Father Marcelo Rossi from the top of the structure. Despite the fall, he was not injured and the woman was contained by the police. The ceremony was being celebrated in Cachoeira Paulista, inland São Paulo.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Father Marcelo Rossi was pushed as he addressed the faithful during a Mass held in the city of Cachoeira Paulista, in the interior of the State of São Paulo, on the afternoon of Sunday, July 14th.

The Mass was part of the closing event of a retreat, held by Catholic TV Canção Nova.

According to information from G1, the woman's friends allegedly told the state police that she suffers from mental disorders.

The woman was restrained and Father Marcelo Rossi apparently did not get hurt, resuming Mass minutes later.
