‘Blend BBQ Festival’ Happens Next Weekend at Jardim do Méier in Rio

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – In addition to a few tons of various types of meat, visitors to the event will also be able to enjoy a variety of drinks and the best of rock, blues, and country music.

Chef Luis Felipe Carril, from Blend Steak Bar, a restaurant specialized in meat, has invited the country’s main barbecue masters, such as Luã Tavares, Rio de Janeiro’s representative in the Brazilian Pitmaster’s Team, to command the meat stations.

Here, visitors can taste ribs roasted in a ground pit, rib-eye steak prepared in Argentine parrilla style, and  brisket made in smoker pit, among others. To lick your fingers, there will be a station dedicated to desserts, including pancakes with Argentine dulce de leche (caramel) and Vanilla Bourbon ice cream.

There will also be a drinks bar and two more with different types of drinks.

“Meat will be the main star of the event. We want to bring the best of barbecue to the sound of good music and cold beer for the public in the region and all nearby neighborhoods,” said Luis Felipe Carril, chef at Blend Steak Bar, with experience in national and international restaurants.

On Friday (October 4th), from 6:30 PM, the bands “Five Minutes of Rain” and “Pepper Spray Cover Rio” play the best classics of national and international rock.

On Saturday (October 5th), from 1 PM, Eduardo Camacho and the bands “Criminais” and “Os Cascas” will ensure the festival’s music.

Finally, on Sunday (October 6th), also from 1 PM, singer Fred Chico’s shows and the bands “Mais do Mesmo” and “Black Circle” will be playing.

The gates of Jardim do Méier will be open to the public from 5 PM on Friday (October 4th), and at 12 PM on Saturday (October 5th) and Sunday (October 6th).
