Cold Front Will Hit Rio on Friday – Rain Forecast for Carnaval
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Carnaval in Rio should start with rain and revelers may now prepare an extra accessory for their costumes: a raincoat.
According to the Climatempo forecast, the arrival of a cold front over the state of Rio de Janeiro will lead to a change in the weather.

Rainfall may be moderate to heavy, as early as Friday evening, February 21st, the first day of the Series A samba school parades, at Marquês de Sapucaí.
On Sunday and Monday, the days of the Special Group parades, there is a chance of heavy rains (on Sunday) despite a weaker area of instability, according to Climatempo.
Also according to the forecast, as a result of the cold front, revelers in Rio will not experience the typical heat of this time of year in the city.

Sunday, February 23rd – high chance of moderate rainfall at night and dawn on Monday;
Monday, February 24th – chance of light to moderate rainfall on Monday night and dawn on Tuesday;
Wednesday, February 26th – moderate to heavy rainfall in the afternoon and evening.
