Copacabana’s New Year’s Eve Will Feature Evangelical Worship Concert

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Evangelical worship singer Anayle Sullivan will open the main stage opposite the Copacabana Palace Hotel. She is married to Michael Sullivan, who has produced artists like Tim Maia and Xuxa and composed hits like “Me Dê Motivo” and “Um Dia de Domingo”, recorded by Tim Maia.

“This three-stage idea in Copacabana not only favors traffic but also provides space for evangelical worship, which is the top spot on the radio in our city. This music will have a special stage [in the sense of space] for the first time,” Mayor Crivella said at a media conference about the festivities.

There will be 14 minutes of fireworks, four stages, 10 ocean rafts, with equal distances of 275 meters between them, seven screens on the waterfront, 16 communication towers with sound, 16.9 tons of fireworks, 800 chemical bathrooms, four medical stations, and 30 State Police towers.

There is also a party in Flamengo, with fireworks set off from three rafts, on Paquetá Island, Ilha do Governador, Madureira Park, Sepetiba, Guaratiba, Piscinão de Ramos and Penha.
