Dreamland Wax Museum Exhibition Comes to AquaRio

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – With life-size statues of celebrities such as singer Amy Winehouse, Steve Jobs, and even the Brazilian characters Didi and Mussum from “Os Trapalhões”, the Dreamland Wax Museum comes to AquaRio in Rio de Janeiro for a temporary exhibition.

The collection also features statues by oceanographer Jacques Cousteau, as well as a replica of Margarida, the sand tiger shark, the first of its kind to come to the aquarium, and the jaws of the extinct Megalodon, which lived millions of years ago in the Pacific Ocean.

The exhibition includes over 30 pieces produced in workshops in France and England, and the sculptures on display include celebrities from fiction and from the Star Wars saga, such as Master Yoda, Darth Vader, and the StormTrooper. The passionate comic book audience will be able to enjoy the replicas of the Iron Man and Wolverine.

At the very front door, the famous character Tyrion Lannister, from Game of Thrones, played by American actor Peter Dinklage, welcomes those who intend to venture into this new attraction.

“AquaRio is always bringing novelties. Last year, we had the ”Ice Age” exhibition and now we are introducing the Dreamland Wax Museum to encourage the public to keep coming back because each visit shows a different aquarium. Those who haven’t seen a wax museum yet will be surprised”, says Marcelo Szpilman, director-president of the aquarium.
