Mayor of Rio de Janeiro confirms the city’s world-famous Carnaval in 2022

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - On Monday, June 22, the mayor of Rio, Eduardo Paes, in an event in the western zone of Rio, ruled out, at least at first glance, that a trial run for the 2022 Carnaval could be held in November this year in the Sambódromo stadium, home of the samba schools parades.

According to him, it is practically impossible to hold any event in the Sambódromo in 2021. Although he denied "warming up" for the festivities, the mayor of Rio confirmed the Carnaval season in 2022.
