Movie Theaters in Rio de Janeiro City Can Reopen October 1st

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Movie theaters in the city of Rio de Janeiro will reopen on October 1st.

The decision was taken during an online meeting held on Monday, September 21st, with city hall and health regulation representatives, the president of the Syndicate of Cinema Exhibiting Companies of the City of Rio de Janeiro, Roberto Darze, and the president of the labor union of movie house workers of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Gilberto Leal.

At the time, movie exhibitors were also advised that the date of October 1st has been confirmed for the release of food and beverage consumption inside movie theaters.

However, movie theaters must comply with safety protocols determined by health authorities, including a 50 percent reduction in tickets for sale and providing hand sanitizer gel.
