Rio de Janeiro Will Become World’s Harp Capital in August

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Imagine a world tour to the sound of harps and, in the circuit of divine instruments, the selected city would be Rio de Janeiro?

One of the world’s leading harp circuit events is the XV RioHarpFestival, which is usually held in May, but this year was postponed for three months. The festival features concerts scheduled between August 1st to 31st, all of which online.

In fact, this has become a worldwide trend in the routine of art lovers, a fully digital and familiar world! The concerts have been filmed and edited with original videos specifically recorded for the event.

For 15 consecutive years, the festival has declared Rio de Janeiro as the world harp capital and is included in the international instrument circuit, alongside major cities on all continents, which is a highly significant asset for the capital of Rio de Janeiro.

There will be a total of 62 concerts in Rio de Janeiro and ten performances in São Paulo, with the appearance of harpists from 27 countries, including leading Brazilians, as well as in-person concerts in Lisbon and Coimbra, in Portugal, and Poqueroles, in France in September, with the venues currently open.

The event, sponsored by Eletrobrás, will be broadcast by Rádio Música no Museu and TV Brasil. Major stars can be watched, such as the Czech Jana Bousková, the Iranian Navayemher Band, the Belgian Pia Salvia, the Italian Yerko Lorca, the Thai Kuan Yin, the Dutch Thorwald Jorgensen and the group Les Alizes.
