Rio Again Hosts CASACOR Architecture, Interior Design, and Landscaping Exhibition
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – CASACOR, one of the largest architecture, interior design and landscaping exhibitions in the Americas, comes to Praça Mauá in Rio de Janeiro, from August 20th to September 29th, featuring a wide variety of living rooms, lounges and balconies, with different sizes and themes, in addition to studios and lofts depicting the reality of modern dwellings.

A total of 63 professionals, including architects, interior designers and landscapers involved, decorated 44 rooms under the theme “Planeta Casa” (Planet House), which addresses the home as the particular universe of each individual, the place where we can express our affection and connection, with the others and with the world.
The event is expected to attract around 48,000 visitors, who will be able to visit environments signed by names such as Maurício Nóbrega, Paola Ribeiro, Márcia and Manu Muller, Studio RO+CA, Leila Bittencourt, Paula Neder, Duda Porto, Gisele Taranto, Maritza de Orleans, and Bragança, among others.
This year, the event is housed in the Touring Club building, an art deco construction designed by French architect Joseph Gire — who also designed the Copacabana Palace — and built in 1920, as well as in a warehouse annex. After the event ends, the space, which in the past was the gateway to the city for those arriving by ship, will become a large gastronomic market, along the lines of the European ones like the Mercado da Ribeira in Lisbon.
The living rooms and lounges will be located in the main building. There will be three floors dedicated almost exclusively to the art of welcoming, since this is one of the building’s oldest traditions. On the third floor, the balcony overlooking Guanabara Bay and the Museum of Tomorrow will host a charming bar. The warehouse annex, on the other hand, suggests what it would be like to live in the port area.
Based on the design project signed by architect Mario Santos, it will comprise, on one side, stores and commercial areas, and on the other, housing with lofts and studios with areas ranging from 70m² to 90m². In the background, the leisure area for would-be residents with the traditional Casacor restaurant, the Wine Bar, Gourmet Kitchen, and a Film Lounge. In all, there will be more than 6,000 square meters of pure inspiration.
