RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The state of Rio de Janeiro records 2,715 deaths from Covid-19, a disease caused by the novel coronavirus. There were 101 more confirmed deaths on Sunday, May 17th. There are a further 952 deaths under investigation, and 206 have been ruled out.
According to the report released by the State Health Secretariat on Sunday, the state recorded 22,238 confirmed cases of infection with the novel coronavirus. To date, among the confirmed cases, 17,557 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.
