RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The city of Rio recorded two major police operations on Tuesday morning, October 27th. In the largest of them, some 300 Civil Police officers were deployed to the Complexo da Maré to try to arrest members of Rio's largest criminal faction. In another operation, BOPE police (tactical unit of the State Police) were sent up Morro da Mangueira and shots were exchanged.
