  • Brazilian Modern Architectures / lecture series
The course intends to introduce the history of Brazilian modernist architecture and discuss it in relation to the concept of ‘synthesis of the arts’ proposed by critic Mario Pedrosa in 1959. The fourth and final class will address Brasília’s relationship with the visual arts in general and the absence of concrete and neo-concrete artists in its aesthetic conception. The most recent relations between art and architecture linked to ‘post-modern’ and contemporary contexts will also be analyzed.
