Rio Oil & Gas Show, Latin America’s largest oil event, postponed until September 2022
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Rio Oil & Gas conference, Latin America’s largest oil event, has been deferred by a year, to September 2022, due to concerns related to the Covid-19 pandemic in Brazil, organizers said on Friday.
The conference had its date rescheduled after the Board of Directors of the Brazilian Institute of Oil and Gas (IBP) analyzed all scenarios related to the Covid-19 pandemic, including the progress in vaccination coverage this year.

According to a statement by the event, “IBP applies and upholds the best health and sanitary practices for conducting its institutional activities and established that the deferral is the best means to ensure the safety of all exhibitors, sponsors, conference attendees, visitors, and staff.”
The decision also marks the return of the conference to an even year, for which it became so well known in the oil and gas and Rio de Janeiro events calendar, IBP said.
The event, to be held between September 26 and 29, will proceed with the hybrid in-person and digital format. The venue will also be maintained, at Pier Mauá in Rio de Janeiro.
The Rio Oil & Gas platform, which held the conference’s first fully digital edition in 2020, will host initiatives throughout the year that will cater to all audiences, with the aim of fostering new debates, knowledge and networking, the organization said.
