Rio Civil Police Conduct Operation to Arrest 29 Suspected Drug Traffickers

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Yesterday, February 19th, Civil Police officers carried out an operation to serve 29 warrants for the arrest of suspected criminals in communities in the suburbs of the city of Rio de Janeiro. By 9 AM, 12 arrest warrants had been served.

The Drug Enforcement Administration’s operation is targeting the gang that controls drug sales in the communities of Senador Camará, Vila Aliança (both in Rio’s west zone) and Acari (north zone), among others.
