‘Porta dos Fundos’: Rio Court Orders Temporary Removal of Christmas Special
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – By determination of Judge Benedicto Abicair, of the 6th Civil Chamber of the Rio de Janeiro Appellate Court (TJ-RJ), the producer Porta dos Fundos and Netflix will be forced to remove “Christmas Special Porta dos Fundos: The First Temptation of Christ” from the air, released on the streaming platform since early December.
The decision comes in response to a petition made by the Don Bosco Center for Faith and Culture Association. In the lower court, the petition had been denied.

The 46-minute special presents Jesus (Gregorio Duvivier), about to celebrate his 30th birthday. He is surprised with a birthday party when he returns from the desert with his boyfriend, Orlando (Fábio Porchat). The satire with a gay Jesus displeased religious sectors, which call for censorship of the production.
See the conclusion of the judge:
For all the above, if it seems to me more appropriate and beneficial, not only for the Christian community but for the Brazilian society, mostly Christian, until the merits of the appeal are judged by the full court, to resort to caution, to calm spirits, thus I hereby grant the temporary restraining order as requested.
