Rio Could Reach 24,000 Coronavirus Cases in Month If Prevention Measures Disregarded

According to the State Secretary of Health, if people remain at home, that number will drop to three thousand cases.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Edmar Santos, the State Secretary of Health, said that if prevention measures are disrespected, the state of Rio could record 24,000 cases of the disease within a month.

On Sunday, March 15th, Rio de Janeiro recorded its first coronavirus patient in a critical condition. He is a man in his 60s admitted to a private hospital.
