Rio de Janeiro decrees total closure of its beaches as of Saturday due to Covid-19

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Rio de Janeiro Mayor Eduardo Paes issued a decree in the Municipal Gazette this Friday, March 19th, ordering the closure of beaches, forbidding the entry of chartered buses into the city and the parking of vehicles on the beachfront - kiosks, however, can operate normally.

The measures aim to contain the spread of Covid-19 in the capital and are complementary to those determined a week ago by the mayor.

The new rules come into force at midnight this Saturday, March 20th, and will remain in force until 5 AM on Monday, March 22nd. According to the . . .
