Rio’s Beautiful Niemeyer Avenue With No Prospect of Re-Opening

One of the city's most beautiful avenues is closed and may not open again if necessary repairs and improvements cannot be made.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Avenida Niemeyer, a major artery connecting Rio's upscale Leblon and São Conrado neighborhoods, as well as being the sole access to the Vidigal favela community, has been closed for more than a week.
