Rio City Hall Records Over 8,000 Infractions for Lack of Masks Since June

The Municipality has fined 8,238 people, 7,769 of them on public roads. Altogether, there were 9,959 different health infractions in 139 days of inspection, between June and October.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Rio de Janeiro City Hall agents recorded 8,238 infractions for failure to wear masks for protection against Covid-19 between June and October.

This figure represents 82.71 percent of the total fines applied by municipal authorities in 139 days of inspection during the pandemic.

In total, there were 9,959 different health infractions between June 5th and October 22nd.
