Rio’s Theatro Municipal shows what operas, ballets and concerts are all about
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Theatro Municipal of Rio de Janeiro held another edition of the #AulaEmCasa (“Lesson at Home”) campaign, entitled “Operas, Ballets, and Concerts”, on Monday, April 5, at 2 PM.
Interacting with the public was the head of the Music Division, Antonella Pareschi, and the Symphony Orchestra’s flutist Sofia Ceccato.

The #AulaEmCasa addressed various aspects of the orchestra, including the origin, operation, direction, backstage, and the differences between a concert orchestra and an orchestra for opera and ballet. The live stream occurred on Instagram @theatromunicipalrj.
Antonella Pareschi is the daughter of Italian violinist Giancarlo Pareschi. She has studied violin since she was six years old. She later graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) with a Bachelor’s degree in Violin and Domenico Nordio in Rome with a Violin Improvement course.
Antonella was Spalla (first violin) of the Petrobras Symphony Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro. Besides heading the Municipal Theater Music Division, she teaches violin at the In Concert Violin School in Rio.
Sofia Ceccato is a flutist with “mastery of the instrument and stage ability”, according to the website movimento.com, specialized in classical music. She is a soloist, chamber musician and plays in the Symphonic Orchestras of Theatro Municipal and Women’s Symphony Orchestras of Rio de Janeiro. She is also a producer and presenter in Brazil and abroad.
Her most prominent works are Trio Capitu, Gaia Trio, and Trio Ceccato, having performed in the most important halls and theaters in Rio, Brazil, and abroad.
In 2020, she taught the course Music and Business EAD, promoted by the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio. She integrated the team of teachers of the Sesc High School within the Uzina Project.
