RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – And for anyone wanting to buy tickets to see it, tickets started to be sold on Monday, November 25th, at 6 PM, through the official website of Rio Star.

Tickets for adults are sold at a promotional price of R$49 (US$12.25), until December 19th. For Rio de Janeiro residents, this amount will be valid for the box office after the inauguration. Tourists wanting to buy a ticket as of December 20th or at the Rio Star ticket counters will pay R$59.

With a view towards tourist points such as Christ the Redeemer and Sugar Loaf, the Rio Star is 88 meters tall – the height of a 25-story building – and has 54 gondolas, holding eight passengers each. The complete ride on the Ferris wheel lasts approximately 18 minutes and 3,000 people are expected to ride it daily.

The Rio Star is located next to the AquaRio.
