RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The event is one of the main comKids activities and will be held between August 12th and 18th at Sesc Consolação, Goethe-Institut São Paulo, with screenings for the public.
ComKids began in 2010 with the perception that the media and culture sector for children and adolescents needed an event to mobilize the various actors involved in electronic and cultural production for children and youths favoring quality content.
All the productions named as finalists will be screened to the public of the festival, in sessions divided by categories and followed by voting.
The comKids – Prix Jeunesse Iberoamericano Festival features the following audiovisual categories in its competition: up to 6 years (fiction); up to 6 years (non-fiction); 7 to 10 years (fiction); 7 to 10 years (non-fiction); 11 to 15 years (fiction); 11 to 15 years (non-fiction). In addition, there is a Short content classification forcontent lasting from 20 seconds to 3 minutes and 59 seconds, fiction and non-fiction.
The event is produced by BRDE – Banco Regional de Desenvolvimento do Extremo Sul, FSA – Fundo Setorial do Audiovisual and ANCINE, Singular – Mídia e Conteúdo and Midiativa – Centro Brasileiro de Mídia para Crianças e Adolescentes.
The organization relies on the cooperation of Sesc SP and Goethe-Institut São Paulo and the institutional partnership of the Prix Jeunesse International Foundation. Unibes Cultural is in charge of support.
In addition to these institutions, comKids also relies on the co-sponsorship of Spcine (São Paulo Film and Audiovisual Company), the São Paulo Film and Audiovisual Company.
