HBO Max reaches Brazil offering cheaper basic plan than Netflix

Fans of series like 'Game of Thrones' and 'Euphoria' had another cause for celebration. HBO announced that starting June 29, its HBO Max streaming service will be available in Brazil; the basic subscription plan costs R$19.97 per month.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Fans of series like 'Game of Thrones' and 'Euphoria' had another cause for celebration on Wednesday, May 26. HBO announced that starting June 29, its HBO Max streaming service will be available in Brazil and other Latin American countries.

The basic subscription plan (which offers access to the content catalog only on smartphones and tablets) will cost R$19.97 per month. This is a little cheaper than the R$21.90 charged by Netflix for the single-screen plan - be it smartphone or desktop.
