Rio’s Parque das Ruínas Offers Free Cultural Program this Weekend

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - On Saturday, July 20th, musician João Azevedo will blend dancing rhythms. Raised in the Baixada Fluminense suburb of Rio, he is celebrating the release of his new song "Marmió" in a free performance.

The event will be free and packed with a repertoire of samba, xote, forró, samba-reggae, and MPB.

João Azevedo's music emerges from the confluence of poetry and popular music, and the show will take the so-called Música Popular de Terreiro ("Popular Music of Terreiro") to the slopes of Santa Tereza.
