RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – In March, the Festival Polos will present three nights of live electro-pop at Oi Futuro in Ipanema. Curated by Rio singer Apollo, the festival’s performers will include Apollo himself, Diogo Strausz, Julio Secchin, and Mahmundi.

Diogo Strausz and Julio Secchin will start things off on March 7th at 9PM. Strausz, a Rio-based music producer and DJ, recently released a new video for “Right Hand of Love.” The song, featuring vocals by Jacob Perlmutter, is a single from Spectrum Vol. I. The album, Strausz’s debut, was recently released in January.

Julio Secchin, a Rio music producer and filmmaker, will DJ during the first night. Secchin is known for his innovative music videos and live performances. Director of videos for SILVA, Leo Justi, and Apollo, among others, Secchin has also released his own original productions including the singles, “Night Lights” (featuring Luiza Jobim) and “Hey.”

During the second night of the Festival Polos on March 14th, Rio singer-songwriter and instrumentalist, Mahmundi, will perform live. Born Marcela Vale and raised in Rio, Mahmundi released her first EP, Efeito das Cores (Effects of Color), in 2012. Following the success of singles “Calor Do Amor,” and “Vem,” Mahmundi released the Setembro (September) EP in 2013.

On the final night of the festival, March 22nd, the festival’s curator Apollo will perform live. Known for his English-language single “Taste Of Your Lips,” Apollo was born in Paris, France and raised in Rio de Janeiro. He is known for crafting electro-pop inspired by Prince, Depeche Mode and filmmakers including Ridley Scott and Alfred Hitchcock.

All shows during the festival are free entry and will begin at 9PM.
