Paul McCartney Makes Millions in Brazil and Argentina

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Fans from Brazil and Argentina have left Paul McCartney incredibly wealthy, as demonstrated by the numbers of the former Beatle’s South American tour.

According to the Billboard Boxscore, McCartney’s June 23 concert in Argentina earned him R$ 20 million (US$ 5.4 million), while concerts in São Paulo on July 26 and 27 earned him R$ 33 million (US$ 8.7 million). In Curitiba, the gross earnings were of R$ 14 million (US $ 3.7 million).
His last two shows in São Paulo, which happened in March this year, were not included in this list.
In total, Paul McCartney’s South American solo tour, with four shows in Argentina (US$ 21.5 million) and ten shows in Brazil (US$ 47.8 million), totaled almost R$ 400 million (US$ 101 million).
With the recent concerts in São Paulo, the former Beatle entered the top of the Boxscore list for the thirty-fifth time, and the combined performances appear in ninth place in terms of the most profitable shows of his career.
