Rio’s Feira do Lavradio Holds a Double Dose in December

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – In December, the Feira do Lavradio (Lavradio Fair) in Lapa will have two editions – on the 1st (first Saturday of the month) and on the 15th (third Saturday of the month) to honor National Samba Day.

From 10AM, the stalls will be spread out on Lavradio Street (also known as “Rio Antigo) with an exhibition of handicrafts, works of art, antiques, clothing, among other excellent products presented by more than 400 exhibitors. The Lavradio Fair is a a great option if you are starting to think about Christmas shopping for your loved ones.

The fair will also provide musical entertainment, performed by the singer Adriana Dutra & Grupo Nêga de Crioulo, who will present an incredible repertoire of songs by renowned masters of the samba, such as Cartola, Dona Ivone Lara, Candeia and Monaco.

The show will take place from 4:30 PM, in the space in front of the Emilinha Borba Square (corner of Lavradio Street and Senado Street).

Promoted by Polo Novo Rio Antigo for 22 years, Rio Antigo Fair is one of the most prestigious free events in the city and it has a capacity of thirty thousand visitors in each edition.

There is also organized tours through Centro do Rio Antigo (Rio Antigo Center), which is always an excellent alternative for those who appreciate architecture, culinary adventures and an alternative from the beach.
