Following his solo show in Rio, the ever-busy Brazilian troubadour will be playing in São Paulo and Salvador, then reuniting temporarily with Los Hermanos in Rio de Janeiro’s iconic Maracanã stadium on May 4th.

Most famous for being a member of the Brazilian rock band Los Hermanos, which went on hiatus in 2007, Amarante has built a prolific and successful solo career.

The singer-songwriter wrote “Tuyo” – the theme song for Netflix Original series Narcos and Narcos: Mexico.

Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Amarante is known for his varied collaborations.

He’s a member of Brazilian Big Band Orquestra Imperial, with Moreno Veloso (Caetano Veloso’s son), and of Little Joy, with US singer Binki Shapiro and Italian-Brazilian drummer Fabrizio Moretti (The Strokes).

Tropicália legend Tom Zé, Tribalistas singer Marisa Monte, and Venezuelan singer-songwriter Devendra Banhart are frequent collaborators.

Following the critical and commercial success of his 2014 “Cavalo,” Amarante is now working on his second solo album.

Fans can expect him to play singles from the 2014 album, new songs not yet released, and a few special treats from his wider back-catalog.
