Tuesday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Time for some unconventional jazz music tonight, as the Jazztopia band performs at Cortiço Carioca, in Lapa, from 8PM.

Composed of four instrumentalists who have diverse musical backgrounds, Jazztopia will bring an elegant vintage repertoire to its show, including the soundtrack from Woody Allen’s movies and compositions from the 1930s and 1940s.

Situated at the side of the famous Selarón stairs, the recently inaugurated restaurant Cortiço Carioca offers both good drinking and food options for those who will enjoy the show.

Jazztopia (Lapa)
The Jazztopia band performs tonight in Lapa and will present an unconventional repertoire of vintage jazz, including compositions from Woody Allen’s movies.

Cumbia no Mike’s (Santa Teresa)
Composed of Brazilian singer and clavier player Leonardo Fiuza, Venezuelan sax and percussion player Alexis Graterol and Colombian percussionist Victor Giraldo, the Dale Pra Ca trio presents the best of Cumbia music tonight at Santa Teresa.

Terça Jazz (Leblon)
At the Terça Jazz (Tuesday Jazz) project, in the Stuzzi Bar, in Leblon, DJs and a band perform together a live jazz show to the audience. There will be double Martini Tonic shots all night.

Festa Bem Brasil (Ipanema)
One of the trendiest parties in Rio, where Brazilians and foreigners always end up hanging out together. Besides DJ Haron Dufau, who will be playing a set list with the best of hip hop, house, reggaeton and funk, group Pretensão (Pretension) will be in charge of the live samba music.

Located just around the corner from Posto 9, Blue Agave in Ipanema is well known for great Mexican food, drinks and for broadcasting live sports. Tonight they will have a two for one tequila night all night that includes all shots and margaritas. Additionally, most of the wait staff and crowd speak English.
