Bar Bukowski, Botafogo, Rio de JaneiroFriday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Bar Bukowski will host the É Estranho, Mas Eu Amo party tonight in honor of Jim Morrison that would be celebrating his birthday this week. Expect a night of plenty of rock and roll.

There is also a drunken Happy Hour before that starts at 6:30 pm until 9:30 PM when the main party starts. Party-goers will receive a free shot of vodka on arrival.

Tonight, Fundição Progresso will host two incredible shows from Maria Rita and Casuarina. Maria Rita has recently worked alongside Casuarina that will create an intimate atmosphere on stage besides some unforgettable samba.

La Paz in Centro will host the Quebrando a Cena party featuring Favela Bass. Promotions will include two for one on entry (pay one entry and a friend goes in for free) and shots of catuaba all night. There will also be a game of kiss or drink. Live DJs will be spinning the best of funk, trap, pop and hip-hop.

Boate Boiler will host another incredible party tonight that helps a good cause at the same time. Entry is free to those with their name on the Facebook wall (See link below) and a kilogram of food. This will later be donated to less well-off people in the city center. All night, DJs will be playing the best of trance, hip hop, rap, trap and carioca funk.

It’s time again for Lapafest at Leviano bar tonight. Singer Lucas de Moraes will start off the night on the first floor performing a roda de samba with well-known smaba classics. DJs Aílton Area and Cauê will be spinning the best of samba, funk, hip hop and electronic. The band Johnny’s will also be there performing the best tracks from the international rock scene.

Beginning at 8PM, Nó na Madeira MG will start the night at Rio Scenarium with a performance in honor of João Nogueira. Go Black will follow at 10:30 PM with the best of black, soul, disco and dance, guaranteeing a packed dance floor. At 11PM, Arruda will bring the best of carioca samba. At midnight, DJ Marcelo Sabre will spin the best of Brazilian dance tracks. Then beginning at 3:30 AM, Xique-xique will perform the best of forró.

Winehouse is a wine bar run by a British expat that has brought an eclectic range of wines to Rio including a mix of fabulous national wines and international favorites. There is also a great selection of nibbles and cheese boards. For those that aren’t too keen on wine, there is plenty of beer and cocktail options too. Happy hour begins at 5PM and finishes at 8PM.
