The Rio Times, Nightlife Guide, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Nightlife, Bars, Clubs, Parties

We have the top three picks for this Monday, and below there is a list of bars and lounges that are always a good option.

LIVE:
Samba do Trabalhador @ Renascença Clube (Andaraí) – One of the most authentic samba nights in the city, Samba Do Trabalhador, led by the legendary musician Moacyr Luz, kicks off the week in true carioca style.

With cold beer, traditional Brazilian food, and a convivial atmosphere, the Renascença Clube is well worth the trip to Andaraí for those who are more used to spending time in Zona Sul (South Zone).

Things usually get going at 4:30PM and tickets are between R$20 – R$40.

Samba do Trabalhador – Rua Barão de São Francisco, 54 – Andaraí

LIVE:
Rio Night Live @ Beco das Garrafas (Copacabana) – An evening of stand up comedy in English is a rarity in Rio de Janeiro, but tonight it’s back thanks to Rio Night Live, who hosted a packed-out Christmas show at Rayz in Ipanema.

This time they’re at the more intimate space of Beco das Garrafas – prepare for plenty of topical humor from both expat and native comedians trying to make sense of all things Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and beyond.

Tickets are between R$15-R$20 and proceedings should get started at 8PM.

Rio Night Live – Rua Duvivier, 37 – Copacabana

LIVE:
Monday Blues @ Smoke Lounge (Saúde) – Beat the Monday Blues at the Smoke Lounge with Laranjeletric, whose American-inspired blues jams are sure to get even the heaviest feet moving.

While there, enjoy an excellent range of beers, tobacco, and more.

This live session will begin at 7PM. The Smoke Lounge charges R$10 for the live music.
