Groove Party #59 @ Ganjah Lapa (Lapa) – The groove is back this Thursday at Ganjah Lapa, so head down to this fantastic space for a fun and funky night of golden oldies.
Resident DJ Bruno X, Marie Linhares, and Jimmy Jay will get you dancing in no time at this lively night that is all about representation and resistance.
11 PM is kickoff time and tickets are R$10.

Moyseis Marques canta Chico Buarque @ Blue Note Rio (Lagoa) – A real treat for all you MPB fans out there, as Moyseis Marques brings his award-winning Chico Buarque tribute to the stage.
You’ll hear a wonderful contemporary Brazilian artist channeling one of the unique Brazilian voices of the twentieth century — a treat for music fans old and young!
The music begins at 8 PM, and tickets are R$90.

Terraço do Amor @ Terraço Lagoa (Lagoa) – Head up to Terraço do Amor for a special “feriado” (holiday) edition of CarnaCopa.
This mega terrace structure will hold a huge “roda da samba” (samba circle) in its center, plus Carnival bloco Fica Comigo will perform their first show since March. You’ll have an open bar from 3 PM to 5 PM, and then you can dance until 2 AM to the top DJs.
This all-day party starts at 3 PM, and tickets start from R$90.

Mississippi Delta Blues Bar (Gamboa)
As the name suggests, this is the place to go in Rio for live American-style blues music. Coupled with a Soul Food-inspired menu (their mac’n’cheese is excellent), plenty of bourbons, crafts beers, and a pool table, this place makes for an atmospheric hangout, whether there’s a band playing (and there usually is) or just the jukebox.

Symposium Bistro (Laranjeiras)
Run by Uruguayan expat José Hodara, the bistro offers the best national and international labels, which can be accompanied by a selection of cheeses, sausages or a main dish, like the majestic Uruguayan chorizo beef.
