PARTY:
Sonoro’s Especial: Cardi B vs Nicki Minaj @ La Esquina (Lapa) – Sonoro is taking the current feud between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B for a night out on the dancefloor!

They invite you to come and visit their new home, right in the heart of Lapa at La Esquina. This is a venue with air conditioning, two bars, two dancefloors and two stages, comfortable bathrooms, mezzanine and outdoor area. This goes without mentioning the state-of-the-art lighting and sound that has won the club prizes.

The line up for the night is as follows: Mestre LP, Jimmy Jay, Erik Skratch, and Will oW. At Sonoro’s the goal is to get people dancing to songs from anywhere in the world and any time, from classics to the most recent releases, from hits to obscurities, and from the mainstream to the underground, with the maximum variety of rhythms to create a space, “dedicated to music lovers.”

Tickets are between R$10-R$15 and the night gets going at 9PM.

LIVE:
Aleyson Scopel @ Sala Cecília Meireles (Lapa) – Known for his perceptive lyricism and technical versatility, the pianist Aleyson Scopel presents in the Sala Cecília Meireles a program with works by Schubert, Schumann and Bartók.

The program includes Schubert’s ‘Four Improvisations,’ Bartók’s ‘Sonatas for Piano,’ and Schumann’s Fantasia in C Major.

The performance will start at 8PM and tickets are available from R$20 – R$40.

PARTY:
WAV @ Fosfobox (Copacabana) – A new night of conceptual electronic music arrives in Rio’s favorite basement nightclub. This is going to combine the spontaneity of a live performance with the sounds of the club.

Expect pure live expression without mediation: synthesizers, electronic drums, microphones, vocodors and mpc samplers blasting sound right out onto the dancefloor. The line-up includes Corrupted File {Tali on pills & J g b} (NUA), Érica & Pinaud (Manga Rosa / NUA / Red Bull Music Academy), Gam̈a͇ (VOODOOHOP), Pek0 (Pink Mango / Festa até às 4), and TRA FO (Alex Sheeny & J g b).

Tickets are between R$10 – R$30 and the night begins at 11PM.

Winehouse (Botafogo)
Winehouse is a wine bar run by a British expat that has brought an eclectic range of wines to Rio including a mix of fabulous national wines and international favorites. There is also a great selection of nibbles and cheese boards. For those that aren’t too keen on wine, there is plenty of beer and cocktail options too. Happy hour begins at 5PM and finishes at 8PM.

Pub Escondido (Copacabana)
Those into the pub atmosphere will also love Pub Escondido, a discrete venue with premium beer labels, modern design and a really cool vibe. The pub offers 24 different beer taps, which includes the house’s draught beer, Escondido Weiss, made of wheat.

Blue Agave (Ipanema)
Blue Agave Ipanema is a great place for good Mexican food, drinks and live sports. It also has English-speaking staff and is a popular expat hangout. Be sure to check out Blue Agave in Copacabana also for a great night out.
