Richard Bona Group @ Blue Note Rio (Lagoa) – Richard Bona’s unparalleled skills on the bass guitar, unique songwriting expertise and seemingly effortless vocals position him as an African artist that has established a truly global reputation.

Tonight he plays the Blue Note Rio for what will surely be an electric evening from one of the musical revelations of the past generation.

He will be promoting his new album, ‘Heritage.’

The night starts at 8PM and tickets cost between R$75-R$150

PARTY:
Classy Convida @ Fosfobox Bar Club (Copacabana) – Classy presents a night of classic hip-hop, drum and bass, trap, dub, dancehall, jazzy house, world groove, and funk.

DJing tonight will be Vinelli, Gabi Oliveira, MDMA, Te Amo Te Odeio, and Larinha.

While at the Fosfobar there will be sets from Dirty Two and Fernando Quixada.

Entrance is free until 1AM if you get your name on the event wall. Otherwise tickets are between R$20-R$30.

LIVE:
Pretty Babies & Old Kitchen! @ Casa da Matriz (Botafogo) – This Thursday’s Live Sessions Matrix features performances from Pretty Babies and Old Kitchen.

Sixties pop, seventies fuzz, with a mind firmly in 2018. Gabriel Moura (Highjack) and Pedro Domicio (Selfdecay) are releasing the first single from this daring, dancing, electrifying and captivating project, along with Lucas Leão (Beach Combers). Pretty Babies released their first single, Cigarettes, in May 2018, and will soon release their debut album.

Old Kitchen is a Rock band formed in 2012 in Rio de Janeiro by vocalist and guitarist André Lima, bassist Gabriel Teodoro, drummer Thiago Calado and guitarist Pedro do Carmo. The band has major influences from the British / American indie rock scene. Their influences range from modern indie rock to classic bands, including The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, The Cure, The Killers, The Smiths and so on.

Also on offer will be drinks promotions, DJs playing the rock tracks, pinball machines, ping pong table, and a welcome shot.

Tickets are between R$10-R$15 and the night gets going at 8PM.

Winehouse (Botafogo)
Winehouse is a wine bar run by a British expat that has brought an eclectic range of wines to Rio including a mix of fabulous national wines and international favorites. There is also a great selection of nibbles and cheese boards. For those that aren’t too keen on wine, there is plenty of beer and cocktail options too. Happy hour begins at 5PM and finishes at 8PM.

Pub Escondido (Copacabana)
Those into the pub atmosphere will also love Pub Escondido, a discrete venue with premium beer labels, modern design and a really cool vibe. The pub offers 24 different beer taps, which includes the house’s draught beer, Escondido Weiss, made of wheat.

Blue Agave (Ipanema)
Blue Agave Ipanema is a great place for good Mexican food, drinks and live sports. It also has English-speaking staff and is a popular expat hangout. Be sure to check out Blue Agave in Copacabana also for a great night out.
