We have the top three picks for this Tuesday, and below there is a list of bars and lounges that are always a good option.

DRINKS:
Mundo Lingo @ Jungle Garden Pub (Ipanema) – This Tuesday is the grand opening of Mundo Lingo. They call themselves a ‘huge community of locals and internationals that meet every week to chat, meet new people, and practice speaking other languages.’

‘There will be flag stickers from over 150 countries and regions. Your native language goes at the top. The rest follow below in order or ability towards the weakest at the bottom. It’s open to all nationalities and languages and you can talk about anything you like. You don´t have to be an advanced speaker, or even speak a second language – its for all levels!’

Happy Hour is from 7-9PM with a two-for-one offer on caipirinhas. This event is free and starts at 7PM.

LIVE:
Pra Gira Girar @ Teatro Ipanema (Ipanema) – This evening there is also a celebration of the music of ‘Os Tincoãs,’ a Bahian group from the sixties and seventies who were famous for bringing an African influence to Brazilian pop music.

Alan de Deus, Alvaro Lancellotti, Michele Leal and Zé Manoel have immersed themselves in the music of Os Tincoãs, reconstructing vocal arrangements of great beauty. They are joined by Pedro Costa on guitar, who rearranged the music for each of the songs, while Diogo Gomes will play trumpet and Ana Magalhães and Zero Telles are to provide the percussion. Together, they will present re-imagined songs from the group’s four albums for a celebration of both the past and the present.

Tickets are between R$10-R$20 and the show is set to begin at 9PM.

Pra Gira Girar – Rua Prudente de Morais, 824 – Ipanema

This promises to be a great evening of Brazilian hip-hop, and drinks and snacks should be available from assorted vendors. There is no charge for entry and the music should begin at around 6PM.
