LIVE:
Sofar Rio @ Mystery Location (Ipanema) – Sofar (Songs from a room) Sounds is a project that presents the magic of live music through intimate shows put on in unusual environments.

It’s a unique event where participants can enjoy an experience full of good music, while also getting in close proximity to the musicians, finding new places in the city and also enjoying the experience of a real surprise while in the comfort of a crowd of like-minded people.

Sofar Sounds performs secret surprise shows. They do not release the identity of the bands or performers before the event. The address of the location is only revealed 48 hours prior to the event and only to confirmed participants.

This Sofar Sounds event will be starting at 7PM in the neighborhood of Ipanema, with three to five bands or artists each playing a set of around twenty minutes. Tickets start from R$44.

PARTY:
Mambo @ New Mariuzinn (Copacabana) – The Mambo summer party is the new fixture for Tuesdays in Copacabana, with a mixture of cariocas, backpackers, latinos and tourists all enjoying the two hour open bar and many other great deals at the New Mariuzinn club, just a stone’s throw from the beach.

From 11PM to 1AM there is an open bar with all you can drink caipirinhas, vodka drinks, beer and more. Plus, during the other hours of the party, there are plenty of special deals: two bottles of beer for R$24.90, two caipirinhas for R$24.90, skol beats for R$10, and many more offers on the night. DJ Luccio and DjaH Koke (Chile) will be playing best reggaeton, pop, house, trap, hits, carioca funk and more!

Tickets are between R$30-R$50 and the night gets going at 11PM.

PARTY:
CoCoBloCo @ Praça XV (Centro) – For the second consecutive year there will be a CoCoBloCo as a warm-up to Carnival in Rio’s historic city center.

People are encouraged to bring instruments, costumes and glitter to join in with a completely improvised party atmosphere. This is an all-inclusive bloco, so any discriminatory behaviour will not be tolerated.

This free event starts at 7PM.

Blue Agave (Ipanema)
Located just around the corner from Posto 9, Blue Agave in Ipanema is well known for great Mexican food, drinks, and for broadcasting live sports. Additionally, most of the wait staff and crowd speak English.

Dida Bar e Restaurante (Tijuca)
Specialized in Afro-Brazilian and African food, Bar da Dida is a great option for authentic, soulful food one cannot find in any corner. Make sure to try one of its finger food that have already participated in the “Comida di Boteco” contest.
